Scientology Recognized as a Religion in Europe

Strasbourg, France — On April 4, 2007, the European Court of Human Rights issued a decision in a case the Church of Scientology of Moscow brought against Moscow authorities concerning its right to register as a religious community.  After many failed attempts, the Moscow Church brought the case to the highest level of justice in Europe.  This decision finds that Scientology was not being correctly treated according to the Russian religion laws.  As we all know, the right to believe in religion or the right of thought is clearly a human right.  Anyone attempting to take this away from you is supressing you.  Thus, with this decision, the supression in Russia has been exposed and the Church rightfully acknowledged as a religion.

Because this decision is a ruling from the European Court of Human Rights, the application of it is actually the entire European Union, i.e., all 46 nations.  Thus, even Germany, France, Spain, etc. cannot argue any longer that the Church of Scientology is not a religion.  It is nonsense, and now they have a decision that tells them so.

This decision is a great acknowledgement to all Scientologists around the world as many have had to fight just for a right to believe in what they think it right.  That fight has now been correctly acknowledged.
