Scientology Volunteer Ministers Help California Firefighters

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Help California Firefighters

fire

This season has definitely been one for fires, particularly in Southern California (Los Angeles and San Diego). Many homes destroyed, thousands evacuated at times, etc. One good thing is that many people come out to help. Among them are the Scientology Volunteer Ministers. http://www.volunteerministers.org

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers are an organized body of volunteers who use the tools of Scientology technology and apply it to people to assist them as needed. The slogan: “SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.”

Scientology Volunteer Ministers can usually be found in areas of disaster where devastation is shocking to many.

Scientology Fighting Substance Abuse in the Philippines

Scientology Fighting Substance Abuse in the Philippines

You’ve heard it before, but here it is again, Scientologists are in the forefront of the fight against substance abuse.  This time, the story is from the Philippines.

The Manila Standard Today published an article entitled: “Scientology tapped to fight substance abuse.”

The article states: “MULTI-AWARDED recording artist, composer, lyricist and performer David Pomeranz is sharing his music to help the government curb drug abuse through a major breakthrough in self-healing.

“At a forum, Pomeranz announced the goodwill tour initiated by the Scientology Volunteers Ministry in Manila and other cities, to teach people how to handle various problems and illnesses that could trigger drug dependency.”

Scientologist, David Pomerantz, recommended the hands-on approach to hinder drug problems as well as resolve conflicts, broken marriages, suppression, child abuse, unfair labor practices, illiteracy, poverty and poor social relationship, “unburden” traumatic experiences and cure illnesses.

“This is for everybody. I just want to help our friends in trouble. I am here in the Philippines for the 20th time,” he told Standard Today.

Bringing forth a message of freedom and hope, David Pomerantz stated: “What makes a man unhappy every day. Remove the filter, be happy in life. Emotional baggage must be a thing of the past. Man has a body, a mind and a spirit. We must unburden our past.”

Director Anselmo Avenido, of the Dangerous Drugs Board, showed up at the forum and praised the Church of Scientology for introducing the philosophy to the agency several years back.

“When we learned about the scientology, we immediately coordinated with its representatives and sent our officials to the US,” he said.

“We are happy to report to the Scientology church that your technique has been very effective in delivering our message to the people. We appreciate your efforts to help us in our antidrug campaign,” Avenido said.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development, represented by Undersecretary Alicia Balang, and the University of the Philippines’ School of Labor and Industrial Relations have adopted scientology to improve their services.

David Pomerantz - Further Information:

On April 23, 2004, David was in the Philippines to open up a Church of Scientology mission, along with Ernie Reyes Jr.  Read the article here: http://www.scientology.org/en_US/news-media/news/2004/040423.html

You can find out more about David Pomerantz’ personal success in Scientology here: http://www.scientology.org/wis/wiseng/17/17-07.htm

Back in 1986, David Pomerantz’s two songs in the Church of Scientology’s The Road to Freedom album were big hits.  These were “The Good Go Free” and “Make It Go Right.” I doubt you could find a Scientologist from that time period who couldn’t sing along with these songs.

David Pomerantz also received the Human Rights Leadership Award from the Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) for his song “Invisible Criminals.”

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Kolkata, India Train Nursing Students

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Kolkata, India Train Nursing Students

A seminar organised at a nursing college of Kolkata on Scientology Assist Technology enlightened the students about this technology and motivated them to use it while taking care of their patients.

I read a great article today about the Volunteer Ministers.  You can find the full article here: http://www.merinews.com/catFull.jsp?articleID=125337 Otherwise, below is some of the data from the article which explains the help the Volunteer Ministers were doing in teaching nursing students how to help their patients.

Students at a nursing college in Kolkata got the help they needed through a seminar on Scientology Assist Technology organised by Scientology Volunteer Ministers (VMs) of West Bengal in coordination with the Scientology Volunteer Ministers India Goodwill Tour.

The Volunteer Ministers chose the native language i.e. Bengali to deliver the lectures to 41 students at the nursing school. After listening to them the students realised that they lack the skill of taking care of patients by keeping the spiritual aspect in mind. And without this skill, the nurses who are surrounded by sufferings give up themselves to the idea that in many cases, nothing could be done about it.

The motto of the Volunteer Ministers is exactly the opposite. Their motto is ‘Something can be done about it.’  And this is also true because of the technology developed by its founder L. Ron Hubbard.  For example, one of the subjects in which Volunteer Ministers are trained is ‘Scientology assists’. This subject includes the simple procedures that address the emotional and spiritual side of the trauma, illness or injury.

The nursing students were also taught to use the Locational Processing Assist. A Locational assist is provided by deviating the person’s attention from the painful area of his body to somewhere else. When someone’s attention is fixated on a physical problem or on any emotional difficulty, a Locational Assist can help in deviating the attention, leaving him or her extroverted, in good spirits and more able to solve the problem. L. Ron Hubbard described the qualities of a Volunteer Minister in an essay, titled Religious Influence in Society: “A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things and help others achieve relief from them and new personal strength as well.”

The nursing students were delighted with the seminar.  They now understand that why Hubbard described VMs in these terms, because in the three short hours they also got to know about the tools they could use immediately and with the help of these tools they can take care of the patients in more efficient manner.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Tamil Nadu, India Tackling Literacy

Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Tamil Nadu, India Tackling Literacy

The tsunamis in late December 2004 devastated Pondicherry, India and the other towns and villages of the Tamil Nadu province. When French Scientologists Marc and Prisca Arrighi heard of the disaster they packed up their entire family and took off to join the relief effort. Little did they expect that two and a half years later they would still be traveling from village to village in the region helping people wherever they go.

On their blog at http://benevoles-inde.com, the Arrighis explain why they offer this training.

“Past ineffective attempts at improving the quality of education over the last few decades raise an important question: why has there been so little improvement despite so much attention being given to the situation—with millions spent each year, why has it not improved?

“The answer is quite simple. All these recent efforts have been trying to solve the wrong problem.

“The bottom line on all scholastic failures can be found in one fundamental factor: no one has ever taught children how to study.

Prisca Arrighi describes what she and the Volunteer Ministers team have been doing over the past few weeks.

“Schools here have been closed for vacation. But we continued our work, delivering our seminars in orphanages and villages.

“We have between 40 and 60 children in each seminar, and for three days we teach them basic information on study. What is incredible is that these village children, who are not required by school authorities to attend, have been returning after each meal, throughout the day, come back the next day, and are still here two days later, just because they enjoy the seminar and want to be here!”

Here is what one of the students had to say about this seminar:

“For the past three days I’ve been taking a seminar organized by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers on study technology. I have in fact learned a new way to learn. I studied different barriers to study and what the solutions are to each of them. It has been so useful! And I really enjoyed myself throughout the entire three days. Everything was taught step by step, so you could understand it all fully. I will absolutely be able to use this in the future! And I can use what I learned to help my friends and family who have study problems. Thank you Mr. L. Ron Hubbard for this technology.”

Scientology Educating Children in India

Scientology Educating Children in India

A group of Scientologists in India have set up a free school in West Bengal, India to help educate children. It’s a wonderful idea and helps in a country with over 1 billion people.  The primary educator, Mohammad Khalilullah, is obviously doing a great job. Take a look at the above photo of kids.

Benefit concerts have taken place in order to obtain the needed funds to establish the school and keep it going.  Just last month, one such benefit concert took place at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International’s Garden Pavilion where entertainment included Amrapali Ambegaokar, Nalini Natarajan, Ujjaldidar Singh Memorial Foundation, Michael Duff and Band, Deedee O’Malley and Band and CC Kids on Stage for a Better World.

L. Ron Hubbard’s Masterful Study Technology

L. Ron Hubbard’s Masterful Study Technology

The St. Petersburg Times reported in “Scientology makes it in classroom door” a great success of L. Ron Hubbard’s study technology being introduced in Baton Rouge, LA.

http://www.sptimes.com/2007/05/20/Worldandnation/Scientology_makes_it_.shtml

As part of their curriculum, all the eighth-graders at Prescott Middle School are being taught learning techniques Hubbard devised four decades ago when he set out to remedy what he viewed as barriers to learning.  Prescott Middle School is predominantly black.

The curriculum and textbooks used by Prescott’s 156 eighth-graders are similar to methods and books used among Scientologists worldwide. And teaching the children is a Scientologist hired by the school district.

Scientologists helped introduce L. Ron Hubbard’s study program into the school following the activities the Church did when Scientology Volunteer Ministers were helping in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

Celebrity Scientologists John Travolta and Isaac Hayes played key roles.  Both John Travolta and Isaac Hayes have a history helping children in the area of education, including introducing L. Ron Hubbard’s precise and incredible study technology.

The people who run the program say Hubbard’s teaching technique is divorced from Scientology, that it is just a masterful way to learn. They note that it has won the support of many non-Scientologists, including a number of academics.

After a year of monitoring the program, Prescott’s principal found that Hubbard’s technology has changed the school’s long-dreadful scores in which have turned around.

The article further goes into the three specific barriers to study and the exact manifestations each of these cause on students.

The article also touches upon the history of L. Ron Hubbard’s creation of the study technology.

In 1972, Scientologists founded the nonprofit Applied Scholastics to advance Hubbard’s “study technology” outside Scientology.

The program in Prescott Middle was introduced by Mayor Kip Holden, who had met with John Travolta, Kelly Preston and also Isaac Hayes concerning Hubbard’s study technology.

With below level scores now finally rising to normal, other local institutions are now getting interested in L. Ron Hubbard’s study technology.

Erika Christensen Opens New Scientology
Life Improvement Center in Plant City, Florida

On March 26, 2007, actress Erika Christensen, star of the TV show, Six Degrees, and the critically acclaimed film, Traffic, joined Church officials in cutting the ribbon at the Plant City Center. Ms. Christensen told Plant City residents, gathered to commemorate this special event, “You value what I, as a Scientologist, also hold dear: having a strong, loving family, being honest and maintaining one’s integrity.” And she went on to emphasize the importance of “using our talents and abilities to make the society around us a better one.”

Donald Hallback, President of the National Association for Tourism and Conventions and leader of the Plant City township of Bealsville, welcomed the Church, which he described as “a religion of religions.”

The 11,000 square-foot center houses 44 state-of-the-art exhibits including 12 audio visual systems to help anyone find out about Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard, and learn about Dianetics and Scientology beliefs and practices. They also cover the Church’s anti-drug, human rights and volunteer minister programs and other social betterment activities Scientologists undertake to help hundreds of thousands of families and children around the world.

The center features two film rooms, a lecture room and two rooms for community betterment programs such as the English as a Second Language program the Church has been running in Plant City since last fall.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers - Disaster Response

Scientology Volunteer Ministers — Disaster Response Teams

Scientology Volunteer Ministers (http://volunteerministers.org) are becoming more and more of a recognized force in the community bringing yet another great force to help others in times of disaster.

You will find that almost all key disasters the world over will have a team of Scientology Volunteer Ministers in yellow t-shirts providing whatever assistance is needed to assist the individuals most affected by the situation.

They were there at Ground Zero during 9/11.  They were there during Hurricane Katrina and Rita (among other hurricanes in Florida and Latin America).  They were there when the tsunami shocked Asia (in fact some are still there still saving lives).  They were there in brush fires in Africa and Australia.

Fact is, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers are willing to come and help deal with almost any disaster.  Most recently, they have come to the scene in Tamil, Solomon Islands, Los Angeles (Griffith Park fire), Virginia Tech and now the Greensburg, Kansas tornado devastation (where Kirstie Alley joined the team bringing in truck loads of food and supplies).

Scientology Volunteer Ministers usually come as soon as they can and will bring all forms of help to ease the situation and help people.  The motto: SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.  Some of their activities have included delivering food and supplies to officials and stranded people, providing Scientology “assists” which are unique services developed by Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, which have been proven to help re-orient a person with his surroundings, so that he is not a continual effect of the traumatic nature of disastrous, depressing, worrying or other serious situations and also to make him more at cause over his body, mind and spirit.  Sometimes these assists have unbelievably miraculous results.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have become the largest non-governmental disaster relief force on Earth.  A truly non-personal humanitarian cause to help people in times of need.  You can recognize them, next time you see them, with their bright yellow t-shirts.
