Human Rights for All

Human Rights for All

By applying Scientology in my life, I find that it inherently increases my own viewpoint on others, including other groups and people that I don’t even know and people of all ages or races. There is no doubt that a sane world is one where human rights are guaranteed and where freedom to be comes naturally.

Scientology helps not only through the immense technology and laws of life, but also in its application and in its procedures. There are however, several points in The Code of a Scientologist which come to mind in supporting human rights that I feel have to be mentioned. The Code says:

“As a Scientologist, I pledge myself to the Code of Scientology for the good of all. …
2. To use the best I know of Scientology to the best of my ability to help my family, friends, groups and the world.
4. To decry and do all I can to abolish any and all abuses against life and Mankind.
8. To support true humanitarian endeavors in the fields of human rights.
9. To embrace the policy of equal justice for all.
10. To work for freedom of speech in the world.
11. To actively decry the suppression of knowledge, wisdom, philosophy or data which would help Mankind.
12. To support the freedom of religion.
20. To make this world a saner, better place.”

In that same vein, The Creed of the Church of Scientology, written in 1954, is equally clear. It says, in part:

“We of the Church believe
That all men of whatever race, color or creed were created with equal rights.
That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance.
That all men have inalienable rights to their own lives.
That all men have inalienable rights to their sanity.
That all men have inalienable rights to their own defense.
That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist or support their own organizations, churches and governments.
That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.
That all men have inalienable rights to the creation of their own kind.
That the souls of men have the rights of men.
That the study of the mind and the healing of mentally caused ills should not be alienated from religion or condoned in nonreligious fields.
And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights, overtly or covertly.”

L. Ron Hubbard once stated: “On the day we can fully trust each other, there will be peace on Earth.”

Perhaps it isn’t real for you, but I have discovered that the greater responsibility I take for my own area and the people around me, the greater I respect them as people and grant them their own space and ability to be who they are. This extends further to a greater respect and a natural love for all people. You see it in races and places all over the world where they respect others, that extension of care and respect is very much appreciated and goes a long way toward human relations. The subject of help is one which could use a lot of improvement and you may have noticed when someone helped you in a time of need, you were very thankful.

In addition to the work done by the Church of Scientology to increase awareness of human rights, I appreciate the work that the Youth for Human Rights International has done and their sister organization Artists for Human Rights. I know that they take extensive measures every year to spread the word of peace and human rights in all countries, including many third world countries. They also both heavily support the Universal Declaration on Human Rights.

The Way to Happiness - Respect the Religious Beliefs of Others

The Way to Happiness - Respect the Religious Beliefs of Others

The Way to Happiness is a book by L. Ron Hubbard which delivers a set of basic morals for our modern world.  You can greatly enhance others you associate with by having them apply these precepts.

Precept # 18 - “Respect the Religious Beliefs of Others”

Very spiritually enlightening!  An interesting portrayal of spiritual values.  All religions share this quality.

Freedom of religion is a basic human right.  Failure to respect these rights of others can cause contention.

L. Ron Hubbard wrote: “The way to happiness can become contentious when one fails to respect the religious beliefs of others.”

The Way to Happiness Foundation promotes L. Ron Hubbard’s book (The Way to Happiness) in over 90 languages.  You can also get your own booklet copy with your own custom cover.  Check out http://www.thewaytohappiness.org/ or http://www.twth.org for more information.

Scientology Fighting Substance Abuse in the Philippines

Scientology Fighting Substance Abuse in the Philippines

You’ve heard it before, but here it is again, Scientologists are in the forefront of the fight against substance abuse.  This time, the story is from the Philippines.

The Manila Standard Today published an article entitled: “Scientology tapped to fight substance abuse.”

The article states: “MULTI-AWARDED recording artist, composer, lyricist and performer David Pomeranz is sharing his music to help the government curb drug abuse through a major breakthrough in self-healing.

“At a forum, Pomeranz announced the goodwill tour initiated by the Scientology Volunteers Ministry in Manila and other cities, to teach people how to handle various problems and illnesses that could trigger drug dependency.”

Scientologist, David Pomerantz, recommended the hands-on approach to hinder drug problems as well as resolve conflicts, broken marriages, suppression, child abuse, unfair labor practices, illiteracy, poverty and poor social relationship, “unburden” traumatic experiences and cure illnesses.

“This is for everybody. I just want to help our friends in trouble. I am here in the Philippines for the 20th time,” he told Standard Today.

Bringing forth a message of freedom and hope, David Pomerantz stated: “What makes a man unhappy every day. Remove the filter, be happy in life. Emotional baggage must be a thing of the past. Man has a body, a mind and a spirit. We must unburden our past.”

Director Anselmo Avenido, of the Dangerous Drugs Board, showed up at the forum and praised the Church of Scientology for introducing the philosophy to the agency several years back.

“When we learned about the scientology, we immediately coordinated with its representatives and sent our officials to the US,” he said.

“We are happy to report to the Scientology church that your technique has been very effective in delivering our message to the people. We appreciate your efforts to help us in our antidrug campaign,” Avenido said.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development, represented by Undersecretary Alicia Balang, and the University of the Philippines’ School of Labor and Industrial Relations have adopted scientology to improve their services.

David Pomerantz - Further Information:

On April 23, 2004, David was in the Philippines to open up a Church of Scientology mission, along with Ernie Reyes Jr.  Read the article here: http://www.scientology.org/en_US/news-media/news/2004/040423.html

You can find out more about David Pomerantz’ personal success in Scientology here: http://www.scientology.org/wis/wiseng/17/17-07.htm

Back in 1986, David Pomerantz’s two songs in the Church of Scientology’s The Road to Freedom album were big hits.  These were “The Good Go Free” and “Make It Go Right.” I doubt you could find a Scientologist from that time period who couldn’t sing along with these songs.

David Pomerantz also received the Human Rights Leadership Award from the Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) for his song “Invisible Criminals.”

Scientologists are Drug Free

Scientologists are Drug Free

One thing about Scientologists is that they are 100% drug free.  Scientologists therefore are obviously very concerned with the harmful results drugs have on families and people in general.

Many celebrities have stated that Scientology has helped them get rid of their drug habits, including Kirstie Alley, Lisa Marie Presley and Juliette Lewis.

Scientologists engage in many activities to assist others to get off of drugs and stay off of drugs.

For example, in virtually any Church of Scientology around the world, you can enroll on what is called the Purification Rundown.

What is the Purification Program?

The Purification Program is a carefully designed combination of exercise, vitamins, nutrition and sauna use which dislodges drug residues and other toxins from the fatty tissues so that these substances can then be eliminated from the body. While the Purification Program rids one of the biochemical residues that reactivate past drug experience, it is but the first step to a full resolution to the spiritual devastation caused by drug, medicine and alcohol abuse. http://www.scientology.org/en_US/news-media/faq/pg019.html

Here is a success story from the Purification Rundown:

I had used drugs ranging from marijuana to cocaine as well as others in between for three years. I was failing in school, disliked myself and had absolutely no inkling as to what I was doing or where I was going in life. The only time I had “fun” was when I was high on drugs. I then started the Purification Rundown and finished it in several weeks. I have been a changed person ever since! I am alive. I no longer have a fog around me. I can see what is really going on in life rather than living in a “fairyland.” I have been off drugs for six years now and I am a productive person in society. The Purification Rundown completely changed my life.” G.S.  http://www.purificationpgm.org/

Clear Body Clear Mind

A lot of the concepts contained within the Purification Rundown can be found in a book L. Ron Hubbard wrote called: “Clear Body Clear Mind.”  Kelly Preston has personally promoted this book widely because of the great information contained within it.

The Purification Program can help reverse the harmful spiritual and mental effects drugs can have on someone.

Narconon

Narconon is a non-profit drug rehab program dedicated to eliminating drug abuse and drug addiction through drug prevention, education and rehabilitation.  Narconon methods are based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard, but it isn’t part of the Church of Scientology.

There is over 100 Narconon drug rehab centers around the world and Narconon prides itself in being one of the greatest drug rehab programs around.  The Narconon Program has one of the highest success rates in the field of drug rehabilitation, with outside studies showing 75% of the graduates going on to lead stable, ethical, productive drug-free lives.

Here is a success story from the program:

When I first came to Narconon back in 1997, I was 27 years old, had been using every drug under the sun for 15 years and was basically in apathy as to whether or not anything could be done to help me. This was my third rehab in a year and I truly wanted help, I just didn’t think it was available. So I started doing the program and I could not find anything wrong with it. No matter how hard I tried, with all of my old paranoia and distrust in full effect, I just couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Here was a program that didn’t have me admit I was powerless and diseased, want me to relive my terrible past 90 times in 90 days (for the rest of my life) or want me to take “medication” for my “manic depression”.

“This is a program that truly showed me that I am powerful, that I can repair the past and that all the happiness I ever hope to find is within myself. This program not only showed me how to stay off of drugs, it did just what it promised, it gave me a new life. If you’re at the end of your rope and you’re ready to put in some good, honest hard work to make a change for the better, without drugs, Narconon is hands down the best drug rehabilitation drug program on the planet, period. I’ve been clean for 3 years now and I owe it all to my grandmother for getting me to Narconon and to Narconon and Mr. Benitez and Mr. Hubbard.

“Thank you very, very much.”

Kelly Preston and John Travolta are also really fond of Narconon and were recently in Hawaii to help establish another Narconon there (http://www.narcononhawaii.org) and raise the needed funds for this.  See my other recent blog entries relating to that:

New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project

This is a detoxification project which Tom Cruise highly supports.  This project followed the 9/11 attacks in New York City.  NYPD and NYFD worked tirelessly at Ground Zero helping those caught under the debris, however, as a result, they suffered badly by the amount of toxins in the air as you can imagine.  Talk about toxic exposure.  The New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project was established to rid people of these toxins.  This procedure has been very effective and is based off of L. Ron Hubbard’s technology.  See my other blog entries about the NY Detox here:

CCHR - Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights

CCHR's Headquarters
CCHR International headquarters in Los Angeles, California

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a non-profit, public benefit organization dedicated to investigating and exposing psychiatric violations of human rights. It also ensures that criminal acts within the psychiatric industry are reported to the proper authorities and acted upon.

 Dr. Thomas Szasz
Dr. Thomas Szasz

CCHR was founded in 1969 by the Church of Scientology and the internationally acclaimed author, Dr. Thomas Szasz, Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the State University of New York, Syracuse.

CCHR also exposes the deadly side effects of drugs and how bogus psychiatric disorders are created by psychiatrists to give them another reason to prescribe drugs to people and make more money, while harming the society.

Many Scientology celebrities, such as Catherine Bell, Kirstie Alley, Leah Remini, Kelly Preston, Tom Cruise, Danny Masterson, Marisol Nichols, Jenna Elfman, support CCHR and their activities to save kids from being drugged to death.

In conclusion, you can clearly see that Scientologists are completely anti-drug and are 100% drug-free.  It goes without saying that Scientology does not support groups or people who are for drugs.  Reversely, it is interesting to know that a good percentage of people who oppose Scientology are actually pro-drugs, despite the violence, suffering and deaths caused by them.

Nevertheless, Scientology will continue to be drug-free, allow people to think freely and will continue to campaign a drug-free world.

Isaac Hayes - Success with Scientology

I must say, I have seen Isaac Hayes play SHAFT and it is quite moving.  He is definitely a great musician.  Isaac Hayes also does a lot of community outreach and humanitarian activities, such as taking actions to increase learning skills with kids, as well as promoting human rights abroad.  Below is a success story from Isaac Hayes which is in the What is Scientology? book.

“Scientology is the gateway to eternity. It is the path to happiness and total spiritual freedom. Until one has experienced the technology of Scientology it’s unlikely that one will ever experience these wonderful discoveries. I know because it has worked for me. The more time and effort I invest, the more I receive. I highly recommend it.”

Erika Christensen Opens Scientology Center

Erika Christensen Opens New Scientology
Life Improvement Center in Plant City, Florida

On March 26, 2007, actress Erika Christensen, star of the TV show, Six Degrees, and the critically acclaimed film, Traffic, joined Church officials in cutting the ribbon at the Plant City Center. Ms. Christensen told Plant City residents, gathered to commemorate this special event, “You value what I, as a Scientologist, also hold dear: having a strong, loving family, being honest and maintaining one’s integrity.” And she went on to emphasize the importance of “using our talents and abilities to make the society around us a better one.”

Donald Hallback, President of the National Association for Tourism and Conventions and leader of the Plant City township of Bealsville, welcomed the Church, which he described as “a religion of religions.”

The 11,000 square-foot center houses 44 state-of-the-art exhibits including 12 audio visual systems to help anyone find out about Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard, and learn about Dianetics and Scientology beliefs and practices. They also cover the Church’s anti-drug, human rights and volunteer minister programs and other social betterment activities Scientologists undertake to help hundreds of thousands of families and children around the world.

The center features two film rooms, a lecture room and two rooms for community betterment programs such as the English as a Second Language program the Church has been running in Plant City since last fall.

See the full article here: http://www.scientologytoday.org/press/703261950391_scn-int.html

This grand opening precedes by one day the grand opening of another center John Travolta opened also nearby in Florida.

Psychiatry: An Industry of Death Museum

Psychiatry: An Industry of Death Museum

With public distrust of psychiatry increasing—and government agency drug warnings at an all-time high—a Church of Scientology-sponsored psychiatric watchdog group (Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR)) shows that it’s much worse than you think.

On December 17, 2005, Citizens Commission of Human Rights held their grand opening of the Psychiatry: An Industry of Death Museum in Los Angeles, California.

The museum features 14 documentaries with statements from scores of health professionals, academics, legal and human rights experts, and victims of psychiatric brutalities ranging from electroshock and involuntary commitment to political torture, psychosurgery and the devastating effects of psychotropic drugs. The state-of-the-art museum documents that psychiatry is an industry driven entirely by profit, and provides practical guidance for lawmakers, doctors, human rights advocates and private citizens to take action in their own sphere to bring psychiatry under the law.

Community and government leaders were joined by ardent celebrity supporters Lisa Marie Presley, Priscilla Presley, Danny Masterson, Giovanni Ribisi, Leah Remini, Jenna Elfman, Catherine Bell and Marisol Nichols at the grand opening.

More than 2,300 people attended.  Speakers included Martin Whitely, a member of parliament from Western Australia, Georgia Senator Nancy Schaefer, Dr. Jeffrey A. Schaler, psychologist and professor of Justice, Law and Society at American University, Washington, DC. and Liberty Committee Executive Director Kent Snyder.

Jan Eastgate, President of CCHR International stated, “There have been 18 psychiatric drug warnings issued in the last year alone, which link suicide, hostility, worsening depression, mania, hallucinations and death to psychiatric drugs that reap $80 billion a year—an abuse CCHR has persistently exposed for three decades.”

A sampling of current statistics and facts shown in the new museum include:

• Psychiatrists are using electroshock, drugs and other barbaric means to torture political dissidents.

• 17 million children worldwide are taking psychiatric drugs, which can cause suicide, hostility, violence, mania and drug dependence.

• More than 100,000 patients die each year in psychiatric institutions.

• Annually, psychiatrists kill up to 10,000 people with their use of electroshock—460 volts of electricity sent searing through the brain. Three-quarters of all electroshock victims are women.

• Psychiatrists and psychologists have raped 250,000 women. Studies show that 10 to 25 percent of psychiatrists sexually assault their patients; of every 20 of these victims one is likely to be a minor.

http://www.scientology.org/en_US/news-media/briefing/2005/hr/051221.html

Perhaps this explains why Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, Marisol Nichols, Kelly Preston and so many others support CCHR and disapprove of psychiatry’s drugging of kids and ruining our culture.
