Tom Cruise Wins Germany’s Bambi Award

“Cruise wins German courage prize,” the BBC stated. “Tom Cruise has been given a courage award for his role in his forthcoming film Valkyrie at a ceremony in Germany.”
The award ceremony was held in Düsseldorf, Germany on November 30th, 2007. Germany’s most popular media award, The Bambi award is an annual prize awarded by the German media company Hubert Burda Media. The awards started way back in 1948.

Bambi
It is equivalent to the Academy Awards (Oscars) in the US.

Tom Cruise was handed the Bambi award for playing Col. Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg (Nazi officer) in the film, Valkyrie, which is about a failed assassination attempt on Hitler.
Tom Cruise was praised for tackling a story that had never been covered by Hollywood before.

Eye-catching and trend-setting, Katie Holmes, at Tom Cruise’s side, looked very fashionable with her new hairstyle and Monique Lhuillier gown. Definitely caught a piece of the spotlight. Personally, I think the two of them look very professional and very fashionable. Their style currently looks very German to me. Shows they really go to the effort to be liked by the people they aim to please, while at the same time looking quite stunning.

Other awardees included Italian actress Sophia Loren; “Umbrella” signer, Rihanna; and TV’s Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria.
