Scientology Educating Children in India

Scientology Educating Children in India

A group of Scientologists in India have set up a free school in West Bengal, India to help educate children. It’s a wonderful idea and helps in a country with over 1 billion people.  The primary educator, Mohammad Khalilullah, is obviously doing a great job. Take a look at the above photo of kids.

Benefit concerts have taken place in order to obtain the needed funds to establish the school and keep it going.  Just last month, one such benefit concert took place at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International’s Garden Pavilion where entertainment included Amrapali Ambegaokar, Nalini Natarajan, Ujjaldidar Singh Memorial Foundation, Michael Duff and Band, Deedee O’Malley and Band and CC Kids on Stage for a Better World.

Leah Remini Tells of Her Experience in Scientology

Leah Remini Tells of Her Experience in Scientology

36-year-old Leah Remini has had a starring role in CBS’s “The King of Queens.” She turns 37 on June 15.  One day before her daughter Sofia will turn 3.  She is married to Angelo Pagan.

Leah Remini is often asked about Scientology and her involvement in it and what it means to her.  Her website (www.leahremini.net) explains her views on this.  It says:

Question: I’ve heard that you, Tom Cruise, John Travolta and lots of other stars are Scientologists. What exactly is Scientology, and why are so many actors and actresses involved in it?

Answer: For me it has helped me to believe in myself, helped me with communication because as an artist it is vital that you can communicate a mood, a line, etc. as well as have the tools to be able to overcome obstacles in life that can stop you from really achieving your goals in life. There are more non-celebrity Scientologists than there are celebrities, you just don’t hear about them because they don’t make the news. Here’s the deal though, if you really want to know what Scientology is, you go in, buy a book or simply go to the web-site at www.Scientology.org. I will say this though, I have been a Scientologist most of my life, it has kept me off drugs, it has made me believe in myself, it has allowed me to achieve my goals and continue to strive to be a better person. That is the bottom line.

She also explained to the Patricia Sheridan of the post-gazette.com what her views on Scientology are.  Here’s what she said:

Q: Who introduced you to Scientology?

A: My mother. She got into it in the ’70s, and as I got older I saw changes in Mom. She became a person who was easy to communicate with, and as I got older, I was having lots of ups and downs in this business. I felt like I needed some tools to help me to avoid the pitfalls. It’s about the tools. It’s not about a blind faith, not that there is anything wrong with having faith.

The Creed of the Church of Scientology — What do Scientologists Believe?

The Creed of the Church of Scientology — What do Scientologists Believe?

The Creed of the Church of Scientology was written by L. Ron Hubbard shortly after the Church was formed in Los Angeles on February 18, 1954. After he issued this creed from his office in Phoenix, Arizona, the Church of Scientology adopted it as official because it succinctly states what Scientologists believe.

We of the Church believe:

That all men of whatever race, color or creed were created with equal rights;

That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance;

That all men have inalienable rights to their own lives;

That all men have inalienable rights to their sanity;

That all men have inalienable rights to their own defense;

That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist or support their own organizations, churches and governments;

That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others;

That all men have inalienable rights to the creation of their own kind;

That the souls of men have the rights of men;

That the study of the mind and the healing of mentally caused ills should not be alienated from religion or condoned in nonreligious fields;

And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights, overtly or covertly.

And we of the Church believe:

That man is basically good;

That he is seeking to survive;

That his survival depends upon himself and upon his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

And we of the Church believe that the laws of God forbid man:

To destroy his own kind;

To destroy the sanity of another;

To destroy or enslave another’s soul;

To destroy or reduce the survival of one’s companions or one’s group.

And we of the Church believe that the spirit can be saved and that the spirit alone may save or heal the body.

You can find out more about the Church of Scientology’s beliefs in the book: Scientology: Theology & Practice of a Contemporary Religion.  The book is also online at: http://www.bonafidescientology.org

This book also contains articles written by prominent religious scholars from around the world which really goes into what Scientology is and its beliefs, how it relates to other religions, why Scientology is a religion, etc.

For those who are actually interested in getting an actual in-depth concept of how Scientology is a religion, this definitely is a great work for that.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston host fundraiser for Narconon in Hawaii

John Travolta and Kelly Preston host fundraiser for Narconon in Hawai’i

HONOLULU, HAWAI’I: Kelly Preston and her husband, John Travolta, were hosting a lavish dinner celebration today, Thursday to support a new Narconon rehab center in Hawai’i.

“This is my baby,” Preston told The Associated Press of her efforts to provide drug education, prevention and rehabilitation services.

A Hawaii native, Kelly Preston said she came home to help address the islands’ growing problem with crystal meth. She started three years ago, working with school and government officials to launch Narconon in Hawai’i.

The dinner will raise money to support that program as well as a new residential drug-rehabilitation facility. The 60-bed Narconon Hawai’i center is expected to open in “two to three months,” Preston said.

She was quoted saying: “This is my first one” and ”I would love to continue doing it on the islands — on each of maybe four or five of the main islands — and I’d love another one also here, a juvenile facility.”

She also told the local TV station (KgMB9): “I know that this program works.  I know that it gets a 75% success rate.  It’s amazing.”

Narconon is a worldwide drug rehabilitation and education network with facilities in 40 countries. It is based on the principles of L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology.  It is also one of the most effective drug rehab programs.  http://www.narconon.org  Narconon has more than 100 drug prevention and treatment centers around the world.

“Our goal collectively as an organization is to help with collaboration of everybody else, have a drug free Hawaii,” said Narconon Hawaii president Myron Thompson.

As you know, Kelly Preston and Travolta, who have been married 15 years, are both Scientologists and as humanitarians both have been supporting efforts to get kids off drugs for a long time.   Read my prior article on this very point: Kelly Speaks Out Against Drugs.

Here is a story about a man named Chad Bloom whose life was destroyed by drugs until he found the Narconon program:

Kapolei resident Chad Bloom, 21, told KGMB9 (local Hawai’i tv) his life was a mess before Narconon.

“That’s when I quit work.  And that’s all I was doing.  Going out to find more drugs.  Going out to find where they were.  And using them,” Bloom said.

Desperate for help Bloom entered the Narconon rehab program in Oklahoma last December.  He graduated from the program in mid-April and today says he is drug free.

“I’m very confident that I’m done with it.  I have no doubts what so every that I won’t go back to it,” Bloom said.

“It’s wonderful.  I mean, he’s back and he’s that person I always knew he could be,” added Lari Bloom, Chad’s mother.

Narconon Hawai’i has been delivering basic drug education in Hawai’i schools since January 2005. To date, Narconon drug educators have given presentations to more than 23,000 students in 65 schools. Analysis of initial responses from those students have shown positive results–informal surveys show that 89% stated they would never start taking drugs, or were now against drugs as a result of the Narconon presentations.

A year ago, Preston and Narconon Hawai’i teamed up with other island drug prevention groups to distribute free “parent kits”, designed to help parents learn how to more effectively talk to their children about the dangers of drug abuse. The kit, introduced by Lt. Governor James “Duke” Aiona and University of Hawai’i football coach June Jones, includes essential information and simple lesson plans most anyone can follow. As a result of the distribution campaign, which included television public service announcements featuring Preston airing repeatedly on all four local networks, thousands of families requested and received the free kit.

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann proclaimed the week of May 20 - May 27, 2006 “Teaching our Kids the Truth About Drugs Week” to commemorate the launch of the kit distribution on the islands.

Kate Ceberano - Success with Scientology

Kate Ceberano is definitely doing quite well and having a great time right now.  She recently won the “Dancing With The Stars” contest in Australia.  See my prior blog entry at: http://spiritualbeing.wordpress.com/2007/05/02/kate-ceberano-is-the-dancing-queen/

I also have other entries about her at: http://spiritualbeing.wordpress.com/tag/celebrities/kate-ceberano/

She also came out with a new album, Nine Lime Avenue.  Check out her site at: http://kateceberano.com.

She also is a long time Scientologist.  I ran across a success story of hers while going through a book called What is Scientology?

Her success story stated:

“I think the most essential thing for an artist, in order to develop and mature, is to get information that he or she can use in terms of communication skills and in terms of reality with people. The Tone Scale is invaluable wisdom for any artist. I think Scientology is essential. It’s been the most practical tool for me to have. I love being a Scientologist. I’m proud to have parents and grandparents who are Scientologists. I love being an individual and expressing myself and Scientology has enabled me to do that.”

Juliette Lewis - Success with Scientology

Juliette Lewis - Success with Scientology

Juliette Lewis has been a long time Scientologist.  She is quite famous as an actress and is now quite famous as a musician too.  Her band Juliette & The Licks is totally rock-and-roll.  She has a great website up at http://www.julietteandthelicks.com/

Juliette is quite a character. I think this is one of the reasons she is quite popular.  She can be wild and have fun at the same time.

Her website is kind of cool too.  You can experience what her music is like from there.  It also has the latest information about her site available.

Juliette & The Licks on May 28th, will be re-releasing “Four on the Floor” with a bonus DVD full of amazing footage of the band on stage and on the road!

I found a Scientology success story from Juliette Lewis which I felt I should share.  It was published in a book called What is Scientology?  She stated:

“I am no longer stuck in the bottomless pit of despair and apathy. Having achieved the state of Clear is the single most important thing that I’ve done for myself. It has allowed me to experience life in a way I only imagined.”

She also links to http://www.narconon.org from her website.  Narconon is a drug education and drug rehab program that has been found to be very successful and is based on the works of L. Ron Hubbard.

Lisa Marie Presley - Success with Scientology

Lisa Marie Presley - Success with Scientology

Lisa Marie Presley has been a Scientologist for many years.  Within the last few years she has released a couple of rock albums of her own.  I even purchased one of them for my wife, who likes her music.  Additionally, being the daugther of Elvis Presley surely must carry quite a few responsibilities.

I found a success story Lisa Marie Presley wrote concerning Scientology which was published in the book What is Scientology?  Here it is:

“L. Ron Hubbard researched man and has carefully and precisely mapped a route out of the madness, misery and unwanted conditions one can encounter in life. When applied exactly, the technology produces incredible results. Those results are very definite and eternal.

“Were it not for Scientology, I would either be completely insane or dead by now. I am forever grateful for the technology of Scientology and to Mr. Hubbard who dedicated his life to helping man and this planet, as well as to the people who have dedicated their lives to helping others through Scientology.”

John Travolta - Success with Scientology

John Travolta - Success with Scientology

John Travolta has been a long time Scientologist and his movies continue to be rake in the millions and please his fans.  His last movie Wild Hogs did very well.

John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston are also very active on various community activities, which I find to be a very humanitarian effort.  For example, they will be at a fundraiser in Hawaii on May 24th, 2007 to support Narconon, a drug rehabilitation program which has proven to be a very successful program. (http://www.narconon.org)  Read my earlier blog entry on this at: http://spiritualbeing.wordpress.com/2007/05/09/john-travolta-and-kelly-preston-to-host-anti-drug-event/

To say that John Travolta has had a successful career in life would be an understatement.  Not to mention, he happens to be one of the only celebrities that I know that fly jets and can park one by their own house.  It is quite amazing.

John Travolta has definitely expressed a lot concerning his religion of Scientology and here is a success story which I found which was published in the book What is Scientology?

“In January of 1975 I was working on my first film in Durango, Mexico. There I met an actress who gave me the book Dianetics. During the five weeks we were filming she gave me some auditing sessions and applied some basic principles. That was when I became involved in Dianetics – because it worked.

“When I returned to the United States I began Scientology training and auditing. My career immediately took off and I landed a leading role on the TV show “Welcome Back Kotter” and had a string of successful films. I have been a successful actor for more than twenty years and Scientology has played a major role in that success.

“I have a wonderful child and a great marriage because I apply L. Ron Hubbard’s technology to this area of my life.

“As a Scientologist, I have the technology to handle life’s problems and I have used this to help others in life as well.

“I would say that Scientology put me into the big time.”

Kelly Preston - Success with Scientology

Below is a great success story I found from Kelly Preston which was published in the book, What is Scientology?

“The main thing that has really impressed me about Scientology is that there is the most brilliant tech for anything and everything in your life. I’ve become a more powerful individual with increased abilities. I never even conceived that I could experience these kinds of gains prior to Scientology.

“There is a way to handle every part of life with Scientology, and a way to exist that is far beyond any dream that you could ever dream. All of my dreams keep becoming realities and that’s very exciting!

“Through Scientology, things happen a lot quicker. What used to take weeks or months sometimes happens in days or even minutes!

“Life is at my fingertips and with Scientology I’ve found I can have or be whatever I want.”
